It pays to be able to reload ammo as we watch the men and woman we have elected push and plan for national disarmament over and over again. Some may not be able to come up with the ammo they want for the gun they are lucky enough to have. The Makarov cartage has a bullet that is 9.22 MM making captured ammo in a war unusable in NATO guns that shoot 9MM Luger.
In a time of national crises it may be necessary to make ammo you do not have or can not get. First use good loading information and powder charges in this system is completely safe. Using a case trimmer cut down 9MM Luger shell casings to the same height of a 9MM Makarov and use a Makarov sizing dye if using the larger bullet. If using a normal 9MM bullet then use the 9MM Luger sizing dies and full length size. It is said that the cut down 9MM Luger shell casing will not chamber well in all guns. In that case if you find that your gun is one of those that douse not chamber well drill a hole .388 diameter in a steal plate and using a file widen the entrance in the steel plate slightly using a home hydraulic press press the empty case through with a steal rod inside the empty shell casing, then load normally.(Or tap them through if the press is not avalible)
If you have to scavenge bullets when ammo can not be had it will be necessary to reworking loaded 9 MM Luger ammo in an emergency (like a war and at no other time) it will be necessary to pull the bullet cut down the shell casing to size and cut the powder charge as the cut down smaller shell casing will increase chamber pressure and could blow up the gun. Increase the powder charge in tell the gun functions normally. Save the remaining powder as it will be useful in reloading used shell casings. Richard W. Norman
